Frequently Asked Questions
About Downloaded Patterns
Q: Does a downloaded pattern (a.k.a. e-pattern, digital download, PDF pattern) include everything inside the published version?
A: Yes. It contains the same information, templates, and high-quality images included in the published version. However, downloads incur no shipping charges and are accessible to quilters outside the US.
Q: How will I receive my download?
A: After purchase your download link is generated and appears on the final checkout page. It can also be found in a Digital Downloads email which you will receive within a couple minutes.
Please print or save your PDF file right away. Download links will expire after 24 hours.
Q: What if I can’t find my download link?
A: Please check your spam or junk folder first. A Digital Downloads email is sent to the email address provided, in addition to your Order Confirmation email. If you still can not find your download link, contact us for help.
Q: Will templates print the correct size?
A: Yes, but for best results we recommend manually setting the scale to 100% when you go to print your PDF. Your printer’s default settings are usually good, so try a test print, then use a ruler to measure the one-inch guide shown on template pages.
PDFs are created for the U.S. standard page size of 8½ x 11 inches, with standard printer margins.
Q: Can I change my order from a downloaded pattern to a traditional pattern, or vice versa?
A: Unfortunately, no, our system does not allow switching formats. Immediately after an order is created, downloaded patterns are delivered to your inbox, and physical patterns are sent to processing. In the future we hope to be more flexible with formats.
Q: Are all your patterns available as a downloaded pattern?
A: Not yet, but keep checking back with us. There are many factors affecting a pattern’s suitability for the downloaded PDF format, but we will be offering downloads for many more patterns in the near future.
